The Other Theatre Company's Second Stage Training is a rigorous actor training program that enables actors to practice their craft through "doing." Our teachers will create an environment where you feel both safe and challenged to do your best work. Actors must trust themselves - trust that they are enough, that what they bring to the table is sufficient. We'll help you discover that trust, so you can work and practice from an honest, brave, inspired, and unapologetic place. We look forward to working with you.
All classes take place in The Jester's Courtyard at All Dressed Up Costumes - 901 N. Batavia Ave, Batavia IL 60510. |

Class B: Partner Work and Scene Study
Develop your most honest performance. This course enables actors to own the text with honesty and specificity. We will work on following your instincts and working off another actor. We'll switch partners often in class, allowing you to work with a number of different people, which also prevents the dreaded "bad partner" fear. (Suggested prerequisite - Listening and Specificity).

Class 3: Audition Techniques and Cold Reading
Learn to nail your audition and increase your bookings! This course will focus on the art of auditioning. Early on, actors spend the majority of their careers auditioning, not acting. We will find the joy in auditioning! It's an opportunity to act for an audience - to show someone your work. We'll work on auditions, scenes, and cold reading. We'll cover theatre and television sides.

You will learn the tools that lead to greater understanding of text, and much greater clarity in your performance. We will use sonnets, monologues, and scenes to make Shakespeare more accessible for everyone. We'll work with the folio technique for analysis, punctuation, and clues. Shakespeare can be so much fun!
